This morning during my daily tarot card reading, amidst a haze of smouldering Frankincense resin, I pulled the Ace of Pentacles, an auspicious card that represents the divine spark or seed of material growth and abundance in new beginnings.

The pentacle itself is an earth symbol that represents the combination of all four classical elements (earth, air, fire, water) surmounted by spirit. In the card is seen a hand emerging from the clouds holding a pentacle (which can be interpreted as a seed of potential) amidst a protected garden with bare but fertile ground.

Checking astrological charts I then realized that last night began a New Moon in Taurus. Taurus is the sign of the bull, and is a fixed earth sign representing the material aspects of life. It rules the second house which pertains to money, work, income, material possessions and physical abundance.

What does all this mean?

In my interpretation, all three of these correspondences combine to indicate an extremely fortuitous window that is open at this moment in time: The New Moon (the ideal time to plant seed for above-ground crops), The Ace of Pentacles (divine intervention or the seed of material wealth and success), and the Moon in Taurus (the house of money, physical abundance, and work).

These indicators, combined with the emergence of spring and the renewal and awakening of Mother Earth from her winter slumber, speak a very clear message to those of you with green thumbs: When combined with a solid work ethic, seeds planted at this time have an extremely good chance of success. With that success will bring abundance, prosperity, and good fortune to yourself and your home.

I’m sure we could all use a little boost right now in the areas of material wealth and abundance, so let’s all make the most of this opportunity and get out there and get in the dirt. Sow those seeds, plant those crops, and work hard. It will all be worth it, the energetic tides are in our favour.

Blessed be, good people.
